About Us
Mama's has been in the family for almost 50 years. The name comes from my husband, Michael who does the cooking. His mother is the original mama. She had eight children, and her cooking was good. So it seemed like a good idea to do a little restaurant since she was already cooking for so many people. We've been in the same location the entire time in North Beach. We have people who have been coming for 30, 40, 45 years. They bring their children and grandchildren. It's really wonderful. The decor is what you would expect from a place called Mama's we're small, about 40 to 50 people can fit and it's bright and cheerful and full of light. We're next to a park, and have windows all the way around.
