At Highlands the traditions of the American south meet the traditions of the south of France . Buttery colored walls donned with vintage French posters, warm lighting and crisp white linens help create an inviting and comfortable setting for business dinners, special occasions, or just a late supper for a weary traveler.
The Alabama marble bar is the birthplace of what is arguably the best martini anywhere, muddled to glacial perfection. Classic cocktails, a healthy selection of beers and a world class wine list with future favorites side by side with the usual suspects just might entice you to come in a little early for your reservation to have a sample. Or stop in for a cocktail after work and stay for dinner—we serve our full menu at the bar. The setting is ideal for impromptu or less formal occasions.
Since 1982, Highlands has served a daily changing menu informed by classic French techniques and incorporating the foods of the region. Fresh gulf seafood, locally grown organic produce, and sustainably raised poultry, beef, veal, lamb and game are the foundations of the dishes created by James Beard Award winner Chef Frank Stitt. |
