About the Chef:
The first thing you notice about Pierre is the twinkle in his eyes. Pierre Smets is from Carcassonne, a medieval city in the South of France. After three years of training at the Hotel Marquior in his home town, Pierre received certificates from the cooking and service programs at age 17. For the next few years he worked at various restaurants in the cities of Nice, Font-Roneu and Paris.
In 1989 Pierre relocated to the Island of St. Martin and was appointed Executive Chef at the Galion Resort. By 1999 after 10-years it was time for a change. San Francisco was always a dream destination. Within two days of his arrival in S.F. he was asked to fill-in for a chef friend at the Paris Bistro. A few months later, Pierre began cooking at Christophe in Sausalito.
Pierre joined us as our new chef at Cote Sud in February 2008. We are excited to welcome Pierre to our team and look forward to the changes his enthusiasm and skill will bring to Cote Sud. This big funny guy from France is passionate about cooking and food. He believes that "food makes people happy." |
