Backstreet Steak and Chophouse sizzles and were not talking about the steak. Matt and Sarah Kluesner are bold, big-hearted people who love to share food and fun in abundance. Located in the Old Galena State Bank Building (note the safe), Backstreet was named in honor of Galena’s famous Commerce Street, (behind main), where area farmers and merchants once displayed their wares in front of the Market House. Our steaks and chops are hand-cut from the loin right on the premises, wet-aging sealed for a minimum of 28 days for the optimum flavor and tenderness, then hand-turned on the indoor open flame grill over real charcoal. Our chicken, seafood and signature entrees are fresh, creative departures from the usual steakhouse options. Our wide-ranging appetizers, Caesar and wedge salads, fresh baked whole wheat bread, garlic smashed potatoes, crispy onionstrings and even our desserts accomodate Porterhouse-sized appetites. So whether you dine with us, order Meat-to-Go to sizzle on your own barbecue grill, or stop by the bar to say hello, you’ll always take great memories home with you from Backstreet Steak and Chophouse.
